Walked to school early this morning
It was just like any other day
My friend just greets me at the corner
We hope that we will not be late
School is over in a flash, yes
I’ve been teased more than I can bear
Repeat the words of good John Lennon,
Strawberry Fields is far from here
Coming home I hear some people singing
I guide myself into the crowd
They are singing the words of Lennon
Singing those words big and loud
And then I realized what has happened
Something great beyond compare
There is no war, no pain, no suffering
I feel myself holding back tears
So now, I see the people laughing
I see them dancing in the street
I see the poor ones and the rich ones
Everyone will celebrate
Because war is over, aren’t you happy?
War is over; now dance
Don’t have to worry
Don’t have to cry
The war has ended; Lennon must be right
So now, I see the people laughing
I see them dancing in the street
I see the poor ones and the rich ones
Everyone will celebrate
Because war is over, aren’t you happy?
War is over; now dance
Don’t have to worry
Don’t have to cry
The war has ended,
Lennon must be right
So I realized how good this was
I was ecstatic; war was dead
But then I felt so melancholy
So did the voice inside my head
I told myself John would’ve loved it
Lennon always wished for peace
Now I stood there, about to lose it.
But my mind got the best of me.
I then quickly called my friend’s house
She heard me crying on the line
She asked me what was wrong, and I told her
She then said to me “It’s time”
My friend showed up at half past seven
Carrying a binder full of cards
I couldn’t make out what they said yet
I knew how this all would start.
We attached each card to a flower
Then put them all on Lennon’s grave
I wish that Lennon had not perished
So he could see peace being made
So now, I see the people laughing
I see them dancing in the street
I see the poor ones and the rich ones
Everyone will celebrate
Because war is over, aren’t you happy?
War is over, now dance
Don’t have to worry
Don’t have to cry
The war has ended,
Lennon must be right
Now John Lennon was a smart man,
He was a good young boy at heart
He wanted world peace more than anything
He died before it all could start.
So nowadays we all make cards, yes,
On the date of Lennon’s day,
Hopefully Lennon went to heaven,
So he will read what they all say
So now, I see the people laughing
I see them dancing in the street
I see the poor ones and the rich ones
Everyone will celebrate
Because war is over, aren’t you happy?
War is over, now dance
Don’t have to worry
Don’t have to cry
The war has ended,
Lennon must be right
Lennon must be right
Oh Lennon must be right
Hey It's me again, what's up guys I haven't talked to you in so long! I want to tell all of you Beatles fans to support me on GIVE PEACE A CHANCE DAY!!!!!!! It's on April 16, which is also my birthday! On Give Peace A Chance Day, you put aside all feelings of hate. You also have to sing the John Lennon song "Give Peace A Chance" at 12:00 noon or else John's ghost will eat your soul. (Just kidding.) It would be really cool if I could get people from around the world to sing and celebrate. At my school I'm holding a peace march! If you don't know the song, here it is:
